In a world filled with so much horrible news, I love being able to share something which is beyond good. Some moments, like this one, require you to simply pause and to wonder, to celebrate the miracles within your midst.

Last year, this little boy named Emmanuel was referred to Living Room for end-of-life care. His body had been ravaged by spinal tuberculosis, leaving him unable to speak and completely bed bound. At first, he was only able to move his left hand.

Little by little and day by day, through a whole lot of loving work, Emmanuel has come back to life. In truth, the idea of him learning to walk again was not even plausible in the beginning, but today he is doing just that. We, at Living Room, are humbled and grateful and wanted you to know!

Within the video, you will hear Emmanuel saying, “Asai, asai,” meaning “hugs,” to one of his caregivers. It is impossible to capture all that is within our hearts with words, but what a beautiful thing it is to watch love win.

Sincerely, Juli
